Sally

Pendam Sally

When we decided to concentrate on breeding from Ffarwel Haf and her two daughters, Sally was destined for retirement. However, it proved difficult to control her weight and laminitis threatened.

Happily while on loan to the Terackie Stud, Tregaron, she produced three beautiful Palomino foals including the filly Terackie Summers Dream. She then went to stay at the Taraco Stud, Kent, in foal to Danaway Desert Storm – unfortunately the resulting colt died at birth. At that point we all decided that it was time for her to finally retire and she returned home to us in her native county of Ceredigion.

Sally was a real old fashioned style of cob, one of the last crop by Farian Prince – their two generations go back 50 years. She was a very kind mare, sadly plagued by arthritis of the stifles in her later years (and a lack of teeth that made eating rather a slow business!) However she pressed on, being companion to whoever needed it, and eventually died quietly in her field on 5 August 2013, much missed by us all.
